What We Do

InvolvHER is more than a mentorship program, it is a leadership lab designed to place Black and Brown girls and women in the driver’s seat of change.

Through culturally rooted programming, mentorship, and hands-on experiences, participants are not just learning, they are building, organizing, and leading. We use culture, lived experiences, and community knowledge as tools for empowerment, ensuring every participant sees herself not as a guest in leadership spaces, but as an architect of change.

Our programs are designed to move beyond theory into action. Participants engage in real-world advocacy, creative expression, and community-based projects that reflect the issues they care most about, from mental health to education equity.

By centering girls in every step, from idea development to execution, they gain not only practical skills, but also confidence, ownership, and a deep belief in their voice and power.

The Ripple Effect

The Ripple Effect

The Ripple Effect is a youth-led program centered on social, emotional, and community-based healing for Black and Brown girls.

This program creates a space where participants can process their lived experiences, build emotional awareness, and turn their stories into impact.

Rooted in peer leadership and real conversations, The Ripple Effect allows girls to explore topics like mental health, identity, safety, and self-worth while developing the confidence to lead those conversations in their own communities.

Beyond the City Tours

Beyond the City Tours

Beyond the City Tours is a civic exposure and youth leadership initiative designed for Black and Brown girls ages 13–18 in Durham, North Carolina.

This program goes beyond traditional mentorship by giving participants direct access to spaces where decisions are made, from local government to community organizations and advocacy spaces outside of Durham,NC..

Rooted in InvolvHER’s leadership model, participants don’t just learn about systems, they experience them, question them, and learn how to influence them.

Through guided tours, workshops, and real-world engagement, girls connect their lived experiences to broader systems like education, policy, and community resources, building both awareness and action.
